The
Wednesday Afternoon Indoor Bowling Club
was started 14 years ago as a form of recreation
for Senior Citizens and is organised by
Paddy Johnston and Brian Miller. The club
attracts 30 to 40 men and women, mostly
Senior Citizens, from Broughshane and the
surrounding area, every week in the Community
Centre from October to April. There is no
membership fee, you just turn up, pay £1.00
and enjoy the bowling and the 'craic'. Usually,
15 to 18 ends are played in the course of
the afternoon with small prizes being awarded
at the end of the session. A cup of tea
is always provided. The players are grateful
to the PFA Indoor Bowling Club for the use
of their facilities.
Anyone
wishing to come to the Wednesday Afternoon
Bowling will be most welcome. Bowling usually
begins at 2.00 pm. but it is requested that
intending players come by 1.30 pm. The first
meeting of the next season will be on the
last Wednesday of September.
