Raceview Football
Club Back to top
Raceview Football Club currently has about
25 players, of whom 7-9 are elected at the Annual General Meeting
in the Community Centre to run the club for a year. The committee
meets on the first Tuesday of each month on the premises of
one of the club's sponsors who supply the players' strip.
Players pay £2 per week for training,
having their kit washed, etc. The running costs amount to approximately
£6,000 per year, some of which is raised by a supporters
club. The players themselves do an annual sponsored run for
charity, last year raising nearly £500 for Multiple Sclerosis.
Raceview Football Club plays in the First
Division of the Ballymena Saturday Morning League, which includes
46 teams, 14 of them in the First Division. There are 7 trophies
to be won and Raceview usually win several, winning the League
Championship last year for the first time.
The team is chosen each week by the manager.
Training sessions are at Eaton Park on Tuesday and Thursday
evenings. The club plays from July to May.
