This group meets in the Community Centre on Wednesday mornings from 10.00 am to 12 noon, usually during normal school term-time. Approximately 40 mothers belong to the group. Each mother pays £1 per week and may bring more than one child, usually up to 3 years of age, though there is no age limit.

The group has the use of the large hall and toys from the playgroup. Jigsaws and books are also available for the children and there is a baby corner for small babies which is equipped with soft toys. The group tries to vary the activities and equipment available to the children each week.

During the morning juice and toast are served to the children and mothers have tea or coffee with scones and biscuits. Any money left over, after expenses are paid, goes to the Christmas party, Easter eggs and perhaps a summer picnic.

Mothers and toddlers come from the whole area and mothers are encouraged to join in and help spread the workload of setting out equipment, making refreshments and clearing up afterwards. Each mother is responsible for her own children.

Anyone wishing to come is very welcome, just turn up any Wednesday morning. Fathers and child-minders are also welcome!
